So far as MS Flight Sim is concerned, we all started-out at Meigs. But I've lived on the East Coast all my life. This is also where I learned to fly in the real-world. My online flying has reflected this in I rarely strayed from the Mid-Atlantic. Matter of fact, one of my longer, more enjoyable flights was from KIAD to KBOS.

As I am now faced with moving to the West Coast, I opted to get the lay of the land in the sim. I was awed by what I found just a few thousand miles away. This has opened-up a whole new world for me, as I'm flying from more unfamiliar airports and through unfamiliar airspace than I ever thought I'd enjoy.

So I'm curious...has anyone else had this epiphany? Do you normally fly in the area close to home? Or do you really have to watch the fuel guages?

If you had unlimited funds and a talented programming team at your disposal, what flight sim would you make?

My top priority would be a Korean War sim (not nearly enough of those around), modeling not just the F-86 and MiG-15 but also the F4U Corsair, F-80 Shooting Star, F-84 ThunderJet, F-82 Twin Mustang, F9F Panther, F7U Cutlass, AD-6 Skyraider, Yak-9, La-9, IL-10 Sturmovik, etc. Dynamic campaign would be included, of course. :)

Second priority would be a sim covering 1945-1955, probably set in a fictional post-WWII hot war between the USA and USSR. That would give lots of opportunity for cool stuff like the MiG-17 and MiG-19, F8F Bearcat, F3D Skyknight, F-86D Sabre, B-47 Stratojet etc. And not to leave out the other nationalities; could have the Hawker Hunter, Dassault Mystere, late-model Gloster Meteor and DeHaviland Vampire, Hawker SeaFury... Oh man I'm getting carried away. :)

What are y'all's ideas for a fantasy flight sim?
